GCT Civil War Ball
Last month, I had the privilege of taking photos for a Civil War Ball hosted by GCT (Good Company Tutorials). It was held at the Whitin Lasell Manor in Whitinsville, MA. Participants dressed up in period attire and had a ball (literally) dancing for about four hours.
Throughout the night, I meandered about the four dance rooms taking candid shots, like the top left photo. I would periodically return to a little room where I had my portable studio assembled to take posed portraits (top right). It was incredible getting to watch and be surrounded by the dancing, I just had to be careful to set my tripod up where it wouldn't be taken out by the hoop skirts. And as always, the posed portraits are great because I get to meet and have conversation with some really cool people!
